Naturopathic Approach To Menopause

What are Menopause and Perimenopause?

Menopause is the transitional process a woman’s body goes through when her monthly period stops – for good. Literally meaning ‘end of monthly cycles,’ the early stages of menopause are called ‘perimenopause’.

All women are destined to go through this transition. Yet the number and severity of symptoms presenting themselves in women going through menopause differs widely between individuals.

Menopause certainly doesn’t happen overnight. A gradual process, it can last anywhere from two to ten years.

Eight out of ten women experience one or more of a wide range of symptoms associated with menopause. Among the more troublesome symptoms are so-called ‘hot flashes’ and night sweats.  Other symptoms include weight gain, irregular periods, sleep difficulties, thinning of hair, vagina dryness and low libido among others.

Hormonal Shifts, The Underlying Cause of Menopausal Symptoms.

Dr Melanie DesChatelets has a special interest in better supporting menopausal women and has been trained in advanced evidence-based menopausal hormonal treatments including bioidentical hormones, and non-hormonal options.  Her passion lies in spending the time to do proper risk assessment and having informed conversations so that you can do what’s best for you. You can book your naturopathic menopausal appointment here.

Okay, the boring-but-honest part: we use cookies. The digital kind, not the snackable kind (I checked). They store and read a little info on your device to keep things running smoothly and to see how the site's working overall... sometimes including a unique ID. Say yes and it all runs nicely. Say no and that's completely fine... a few features might just get a touch awkward.
